Reverend Reginald G. Reid, Sr. was born to the late Rev. Joseph E. Reid, Jr. & Mrs. Joyce T. Reid on January 10, 1972. He accepted Christ at 9 years of age under the leadership of his father at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in New Boston, Texas. After graduating from high school, Reverend Reid pursued a degree from the Universal Technical Institute of Technology in Houston, Texas. On June 13, 1993, he was licensed to preach and on September 18, 1994, Reverend Reid was ordained as a Baptist Minister. Rev. Reid attended Aspen Theological Seminary in Denver, Colorado and in 2008 received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Ministry.

 

Reverend Reid was chosen to be the Pastor-Elect of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana on May 1, 2022. Pastor Reid was duly installed as the eleventh (11th) Pastor in the 106th year of the historical Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Sunday, August 7, 2022. As a pastor for over 29 years, Pastor Reid, God’s Chosen Shepherd, has brought leadership through the Word of God; with inferences on building God’s Kingdom through relationships and open communication. He holds each member accountable to be faithful, and consistently encourages them to exemplify Godly character and integrity in every interaction. He is concerned about the present, future, and external well-being of God’s People. Pastor Reid encourages and exhorts us to stay together in love as we remain focused on Christ.

 

Throughout his dedication to pastoring, Pastor Reid attended various seminars/ workshops and was awarded many accolades: including the NAACP-Dr. Calvin Rolark “Business and Economic Award” (2012), the Flat 5ive Entertainment- “The Life Changing Leader Award” (2014), and the Ozan Ingram Iron Mountain Development Corporation, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. “Acts of Kindness Spirit Award” (2015).

 

In addition to Pastor Reid’s dedication to pastoring, he is the successful entrepreneur of several businesses, to include being the CEO of RCM Protection & Security Services, Heavenly Sno & Concessions, RCM Tree Services and RCM Classic Cars.

 

Pastor Reid fuels his desires of building relationships in the community and outreach through his involvement with the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc, with state and local responsibilities; to include many capacities in the State Convention, Congress and the Zion District Association. He has also served as President of the Third Sunday Fellowship of Churches, Chaplain of the Omega Psi Fraternity, Inc. (Theta Upsilon Chapter) and Chaplain of the Texarkana, Texas Police Department.

 

His vision is to build relationships and families “THE BIBLE WAY.” Pastor Reid’s vision is exemplified in his church ministries, in-person and virtual worship experiences, membership, and the meeting of yearly financial goals. In building relationships through the Word of God, his vision now includes moving outside of the walls of the Church to fingerprint the city. Pastor Reid travels all over the country sharing the gospel in revivals, conferences, and workshops.

 

Pastor Reginald G. Reid Sr. and his wife, Lady Brenda Reid, have been married for 26 years. They have four beautiful children: Ashlé, Reginald G. Reid, Jr. (RJ), Christian (Chris), Mya and two adorable grandchildren: Robert and Harlem.

 

Service oriented, sincere, compassionate, committed, prayerful and persistent are all terms that describe Reverend Reginald G. Reid, Sr. He is a man of God and a man of “THE WORD.”
